Knights cross winner grouping to U-boot Korvettenkapitän Eitel-Friedrich Kentrat. Kentrat sunk 8 ships of which one war ship and damaged two others. He was commander of U-8, U-74 and U-196. The last boat sailed to the far East and was part of the "Monsun Gruppe".
The group consists out of the following pieces:
1) German cross in gold, cloth example in dark blue - black wool. Mint condition with sparkling gilded wrreath and original reverse paper.
2) Spanish cross in bronze by unknown maker. Tombak construction with soldered on set up. Perfect condition. No repairs, no damage.
3) Field made Knights cross with worn ribbon. The loop of a the EK2 was flattened.
4) Iron cross 1st class, supposedly Japanese make with fat needle reverse. Non magnetic very primitive make.
5) Iron cross 2nd class by Deumer, Schinkelform. Three piece construction with magnetic, iron core. Mint condition with long EK2 ribbon.
6) Iron cross 1st class by Steinhauer & Lûck, Lüdenscheid. Three piece construction with non-magnetic copper core. Maker marked with the LDO code of S&L "L/16" on the reverse. Very good condition. On the reverse scratched with owners name "Kentrat"
7) Sell made copper/brass unit pin. Very rough soldered on needle pin.
8) Service medals 4 and 12 year service on medal bar. The bar comes with three smaller ribbon bars.
9) U-boot badge reproduction
10) U-boot badge large stickpin, tombak construction with soldered on needle. Perfect condition.
11) KM button and cased Flensburg-Murwik medal 1931
The complete grouping was sold a few years back on Hermann Historica, unfortuantely the cased Juncker Knights Cross was taken out of the group. Elsewise it is still complete as it was offered for sale back then.
