German cross in silver grouping to Generalintendant Raoul Schumacher from Heeresgruppe B. The group served under the command of Walter Model and Schmacher took care of the transport of goods and medical gear to the front and the several "Festunge" in France. They were also active in the Battle of the Bulge.

The group contains 4 historical archive documents that formed the base to the German cross in silver award procedure for Generalintendant R. Schumacher.

On the reverse of an original army flak badge award document is the "Begründung" of a German cross in silver on 28/12/1944. This cross was soon going to be awarded to Generalintendant Schumacher of Stab, Gruppe "von Manteuffel", 15. Armee. He earned lots of merit supplying the troops with general supplies and medical stuff around the "Festungen" in France (Stützpunkte an der Kanal- und Atlantikfront).  Very interesting is also the side note below writting in pencil: "Diese Leitungen waren im Westen sicher leichter als sie im Osten hatten sein können. Nur mit Ruckwort auf Stellungnahme Feldmarschall Model der einen Verglich besser sehen kann. Ja!"  Seems like the writer of this text definitely saw how much worse sullpying the Eastern Front was, asking the last word of Model to grand the cross to Schumacher here!

Two other late war documents are hand signed by Generalmajor Viktor Lennarz confirming the start of the procedure and a hand written page about Lennarz nog being eligible for this procudure (Chef P6, ich bin nicht begünstigt ??).

The last document is the confirmation of the award procudure of the German cross in silver to Schumacher to the Oberbefehlshaber West (in this case to Model).
