SS award document grouping to SS-Unterscharführar Johann Onnen. Member of the Infanterie Regiment "Nordland", later SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 9 "Germania" under the famous 5. SS Panzer Division "Wiking".

The group contains 5 award documents:

1) Wound badge in black award document SS Infanterie Regiment "Nordland", WIA on 31.12.1942, signed by the local SS-Hauptsturmführer

2) Infantry assault badge in bronze, hand signed by SS-Obersturmbannführer Fritz Ehrath (Later Knights cross winner and Kommandeur SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 9 / 5.SS-Panzer-Division "Wiking")

3) Iron cross 1st class, hand signed by SS-Standartenführer Johannes Mühlenkamp,  Kommandeur der 5. SS-Panzer-Division „Wiking“. The cross was awarded on 3 June 1944 for extreme bravery in the field. On the reverse of the document to act of bravery was described (so called "Begründung"). The description states that SS-Rottenführer Onnen, as MG machine gun soldier, passed his way through the enemy at Schanderowka carrying his MG and wounded with a granade shrapnell in the thigh. A small two weeks later he was able to carry the heavily wounded (German cross in gold winner!!! ) SS-Untersturmführer Meinköhn out of the hell of Tscherkassy for a 2km stretch under heavy attack. This incredible act got him the EK1 directly from Mühlenkamp!

4) Wound badge in silver awarded in Guhrau.
