Ostvolk medal in gold 1st class by Rudolf Wächtler & Lange, Mittweida. Zinc construction with soldered on set up. Maker marked underneath the pin "100" made by the Wachtler & Lange company. Very good condition with lfaded finish. Pin broke off and would be easily repaired. No repairs, no further damage. The medal comes in its rarer box with award print on the lid. Box is complete with signs of age. 

The Medal is also called the Eastern People's Medal, (German: Ostvolkmedaille). In addition to the Ostvolk medal, eastern volunteers were also eligible for German war medals and badges. The Ostvolk medal features an octagonal (eight pointed) star with a plant pattern in the centre. 

Despite of the broken off needle a nice set priced accordingly.
