1914 Iron cross clasp 1st class by Funcke & Brüninghaus, Lüdenscheid. Tombac constructed spange with soldered on set up. Very early unmarked F&B clasp, so called 1st pattern variant without feather veins and without scalopped date bar. Clasp in light good condition with small signs of age. No repairs, no damage.
This first pattern spange, only produced in the earliest stage of the war was awarded in 1939 and during the Blitzkrieg, afterwards the second pattern with veins was produced widely to replace these early pieces. The 2nd pattern die was almost always made in zinc and marked with "L/56".
