Wehrpass group to OSch. Max Billig, member of the very uncommon unit "Zugwachabteilung 510 and 516. These armed train guards, equipped with dogs (so called "Kettenhunde") had to check passengers and army personel. Unit was employed in Italy. Billig got caputured by the Americans later during the war. The group contains his Wehrpass (bad condition with photo removed and swas denazified) very interesting Streifendienst ausweiss with photo og Billig and very unusual card with authoristions of his unit. Despite of his rank Billig was allowed check all papers of all ranks (including SS and officers) except for generals. 

Very uncommon unit and extremely interesting as they were operating at train stations in Italy!!
