Luftwaffe DKiG grouping to Feldwebel Herbert Bendsen, pilot within the famous Kampfgeschwader 51 "Edelweiß". Bendsen started his pilot career with the pilot badge on 5.6.1941 and immediately started off with a  series of enemy territory flights. He was awarded the Iron cross 2nd and 1st class only 4 weeks from each other together with the bomber clasp in bronce, silver and gold. Bendsen was awarded with the German Cross in gold on 24.2.1944 as part of the 9. Staffel, III. Gruppe, Kampfgeschwader 51 "Edelweiss", Luftwaffe. 

The group has all 7 award documents and they remain in fantastic condition. Very interesting "Geschwader Kommodore" signatures and a full size large German cross in gold award document. With the group a fantastic portrait photo of Bendsen wearing all awards, one in front of an airplane showing the "Edelweiß" wappen or unit shield.
