Document grouping to Karl Illgen, member of the Infanterie Regiment 171 as part of the 56. Infanterie-Division. Very interesting history that starts with the invasion of Holland. Crossing the Schelde channel. The regiment went underneath Gent and took the city of Deinze. Moving through Flanders up to De Panne they reached Dunkirchen in the end.  Illgen was decorated highly in 1941 with the Infantrie assault badge, wound badge, iron cross 2nd class and later in 1944 the Iron cross 1st class. Illgen was wounded three times in combat! The group includes the Soldbuch and all award docoumets, page 21/22 missing. All in good condition with normal signs of age.
