Luftwaffe observer badge by F.W. Assmann, Lüdenscheid. Tombac constructed wreath with riveted nickel silver eagle and soldered on set up. Maker marked with the Assmann maker mark on the reverse of the eagle. Very early, very well defined and crisp example in near mint, excellent condition with all finish intact. Stunning grey eagle finish and light polished highlights on the wreath. Original pencil strikes over the silver finish still visible as well as the original black pin finish. Name of the owner was scratched into the reverse. No repairs, no damage. The piece comes in its matching very early case which also remains in perfect condition. 

One of the BEST Assmann observer sets we have had! Would be very hard to upgrade this.
