Soldbuch to Uffz. Karl Wanek, member of the Infanterie Regiment 522 as part of the 297 Infanterie Division. Wanek was shot at the gates of Stalingrad on 28.8.1942 (Bullet wound entrie "31a") and was sent back to Austria. He received the Eastren Front campaign medal, the Iron cross 2nd class on 4.9.1942 for Stalingrad!! And the Wound badge in black for his bullet wound. The Soldbuch remains in very good condition with uniform photo of Wanek inside in NCO uniform.
