Soldbuch to Josef Fauda, member of the Schützen Regiment 2 as part of the 2. Panzer Division. Awarded very early with the panzer assault badge in bronze (typical early Soldbuch entry without date). Fauda saw action in the Balkan (Greece, Romania) and was then send to the Eastern front. At the gates of Moskau Fauda was shot down in combat by enemy fire, he was hit through the lower left leg and an other bullet hit his right upper leg. Fauda was no longer fit for combat and was send back to Vienna. He was discharged from the active army and received the wound badge in black, Iron cross 2nd class and Eastren front medal for his bravery and injury at the Eastern front.
