Soldbuch to R. Brandtner, member of the Transport-Begleit-Regiment z.b.V. Wien and later Grenadier Regiment 320 as part of the 212. Infanterie-Division. Brandtner was awarded with the Infantery assault badge in silver, the Iron cross 2nd class on the Eastern front. He was hospitalised with BOTH hands and BOTH feet frozen. After three weeks in the hospital he was released but only 5 weeks later he was hit by a piece of shrapnell (of which the wound got infacted later on).
According to the stamps on page 24-25 Brandtner rejoined the Grenadier Regiment 320 (Marsch Komp Gren. Ers. u Ausb. Batl 320) from November 1944 onwards. The active Divison was now renamed to the 212. Volks-Grenadier-Division and was fighting the Battle of the Bulge at that period. Unsure if Brandtner joined the front lines again as he was hospitalised again on 14.4.1945 for nerve and mental problems (code 26 Soldbuch)
The Soldbuch remains in very good condition with uniform photo, all pages intact.
