Soldbuch to Fhj-Feldwebel Herfried Fürst, member of the Pz. A.A.9. as part of the 9.Panzer Division. Earlier, as Gefreiter and member of the Kradschützen Bataillon 59 Fürst got wounded during Unternehmen Wirbelwind at the Eastern front. He was awardd with the panzer assault badge in bronze, wound badge in black and the iron cross 2nd class for his bravery in the field. Fürst his military campaign was pauzed for  a while and during this two year period he took the NCO and later Fahnenjunker Lehrgang / training. Fürst was reequipped and now placed on the reconnaisance unit Aufklärungs Abteilung 9 and sent to the Westfront to hold off the allied invasion. With the 9. Panzer Division they were sent to Alencon and then moved North towards Failaise and the river Seine. After these short engagements with the enemy the Abteilung was sent to Stolberg, Arnhem and Venlo. Later at the start of 1945 they were sent to the Battle of the Bulge: Rouchefor Houfallize. Unsure up to which point Fürst was part of his unit. The last entries in the Soldbuch date July 1944. Most likely Fürst got captured by the American forces in France, Holland or Belgium.
