Anti-partisan grouping to Wilhelm Hammerer, member of the Gebirgsjäger Regiment 138, Res. Gebirgsjäger Regiment 138, Geb. Jäger Btl "Neuschitzer" and later Grenadier Regiment 301. Hammerer as part of the Gebirgsjäger Regiment 141 took part in the invasion of Crete and was later transfered to GJR138 and sent to the Eastern front. With the 10. Kompanie he got wounded on 1.10.1942 at the Finnish border when it was trying to cross the Liza. Again he was transferred to Geb. Jäger Btl "Neuschitzer" as part of the 71. Infanterie Division, a Division that just returned from Stalingrad and was sent now to the Italian war theatre. This is were he became part of the Reserver Gebirgsjäger Regiment 138, the regiment that was transferred to Tolmezzo in northern Italy. After the transfer, it was renamed the Reserve Mountain Infantry Regiment 138 and was from that time on subordinate to the 188th Reserve Mountain Division. After that, in 1943, the reserve mountain infantry battalions I and II 138 were subordinate to the battalion, and in 1944 the regiment was transferred to Istria and stationed in the Fiume area. During these last months of 1943 and begin of 1944 Hammerer fought against partisans in the North part of Italy. He was able to collect 46 (!!) Kampftage in his anti-partisan warfare calendar and received the Anti Partisan badge in bronze. This rare are prestigious award was entered in his Soldbuch.
Hammerer was awarded with the iron cross 2nd class, wound badge in black, Kreta cuff title and anti partisan badge in bronze end of 1944. The group contains his Soldbuch and 4 award documents. Soldbuch well filled out with uniform photo of Hammerer.
