Death card to FJ Paratrooper Hermann Bauer. KIA St-Lo Normandy/France, 15.06.1944. Good condition with Para-jumpsmock uniform and Para-Helmet photo.

Member of the 3rd Paratrooper division under General Schimpf, shortly after the invasion of D-Day. The division was immediately redeployed from Brest to the invasion front after D-Day in the region of St-Lo. The city of St-Lo was renamed into 'Capital of the ruins' due to the fierce fighting which left 95% of the city destroyed. The division later also fought in the Falaise pocket and suffered heavy casualties.
