Soldbuch/Wehrpass group to flight engineer A. Gießauf. Gießauf saw action in Balkan, Sicily, Italy, and was later part of Lufttlotte 6 at the Eastern front (Belarus). He was awarded with the Service medal, annexation medal and Luftwaffe observer badge in the beginning of the war. In 1945 He received the war merit cross 1st class at the eastern front. A bit later Gießauf also served at the front under Feldwerftverband 40/IV d. Lw Luftflotte Reich control (Luftgaukommando III) shwoing 12 days under enemy engagement. He got wounded on 28.1.1945 and received the wound badge in black and later the Iron cross 2nd class (highly uncommon for a man of this rank and branch!!). A small paper than comes with the group shows he was transferred to the Werftabteilung (mot) IV/40.
