Feindflugbuch to Leutnant Werner Merzenich. Leutnant Merzenich was observer and airgunner with several short range observer units. First action was during the invasion of Belgium and France in 1940. Merzenich was occupied with observing tasks, ground photographing and coastal protection. While flying the Henschel Hs-126 airplane they had to make an emergency landing in enemy territory Geel, Belgium om 13 Mai 1940 (unit Aufkl. St. 2 (H)41) . Several other missions in the North of France and later he moved to the South of France.  (cities in France Royan, Escoublac, Biarritz).

In 1941 Merzenich was sent to Russia. He was now active with the Aufkl. St. 5 (H) 41 and flew the twin tail observer plane Focke-Wulf Fw 189! Again many enemy "Feindflüge" were recorded. Missions in Dabrowa, Polozk, Newel, Wjasma, Gorlowka, Stalino and Prost were recorded. Mainly observing the front Panzer and Infantry troops, sometimes with enemy activity like flak or enemy Russian fighter planes. Interesting missions were recorded in July 1943 while distributing so called "Flugblätter" or propagada leaflets ten thousands at a time!

The book starts on 11.5.1940  and ends 29.7.43.

Merzenich flew a total of 88 Front missions. This interesting book is only the record of his "Feinfluge" or flights in enemy territory.

Nice piece!!!
